The Coming War On Information

Recalling the Nazi Burning of Books

The heard phrase: `history repeats itself’ is potentially finding its relevance in this tumultuous time as the world awaits the inauguration of Donald J. Trump the 45th President of the United States.

Preceding this historical event, predicated upon the choice selection of the coming Trump Administration’s Cabinet members, professional communities are actively taking steps to preserve precious scientific information archives from perceived potential of tampering, deletion and retarding of broad accessibility. Literally, backup copies of all relevant scientific information and study in the realm of climate change especially, are being directed to foreign countries such as Canada for preservation and safe-keeping.

The construct of President-Elect Trump’s cabinet speaks to a denial of all claims of human industrial impact on the environment leading to an inevitable broad deregulation, if not total dissolution of agencies established to protect the environment.

Not only will Trump’s administration impact the field of science but too, education, social security, health and welfare and most importantly, immigration, are directly targeted for dramatic, draconian change given the faces to occupy key positions within his administration.

Without a doubt, the only winners, ironically, will be those whom his vocal and candid supporters of his campaign, the lower & middle working class, are against; the establishment elite. Proof to this are the conflicting statements regarding tax cuts which during his campaign suggested major benefits for lower-middle class earners [campaign tax plan] and subsequent statements post his election [tax cut expected]. It will remain to see what actually transpires but, no doubt, those who enthusiastically supported him stand to be greatly disappointed.

There is little doubt Trump’s campaign slogan: `Make America Great Again’ will unleash a tsunami of de-construction of policies and regulations that took decades of progressive administrations to establish. The Will of the People who take responsibility for putting a shrewd, win-at-any-cost individual such a Trump in the White House, have also provided him with a compliant Congress, Senate and most importantly, a Supreme Court to allow his administration to chart a course unprecedented in the history of the United States and the World, no doubt, potentially stands to be the worse for it. Only with time’s passage will it be known what fate awaits us all.

What Monumental Event?

PROMISE BOUND

Awakening to this world increasingly in disarray,
When will this needless suffering go away?
Cluster bombs, extreme weather taking innocent lives,
When will we take serious the global, human, deathly cry?

Who are these leaders that make the charge?
To what end do they allow this to go so far?
To allow suffering on such monumental scale,
Can they not see their deemed leadership, disastrously fail?

Have decades of brutal war on every horrendous scale,
Not taught humanity, this is a defeatist’s path to curtail?
Trillions of dollars expended to advance this inflicted pain,
All to the benefit of those, out of harm’s way, to richly gain.

Political platitudes and ceremonial remembrances become insults
To those willingly giving their lives, to remedy these egregious faults.
Expending the future of humanity, being lost to needless death and strife;
What monumental event will it take to bring back a loving, harmonious life?

One-way Ticket to Extinction

Since before the day the man who we’ve come to know as Jesus Christ, whether the Son of God or not, who took it upon himself to throw over the tables of the money-changers, running them out of the Temple of worship, charging them to be thieves by way of their commercial enterprises; the majority of humanity has suffered from the ills and hardships derived from the greed and power derived from and associated with, the mechanism know as Money.

Now in this 21st Century, the global commercial economy firmly committed to the avails of monetary exchange, essentially the life-blood to all that is to manifest, is driving this World’s inhabitants, all species, toward certain extinction.

As of this writing, in Paris France, for the third time since the start of this new millennium, a gathering of World leaders and a throng, a thousand-fold in number, of bureaucrats, activists, scientist and international journalist, have convened at the Cop 21 Climate Change Summit. A two week exercise to derive an international agreement setting limits on the level of carbon-dioxide emitted into the atmosphere and, practical measures to reduce existing levels to maintain a 1 degree Celsius rise in global temperatures.

Of the above statement what need be emphasised is `for the third time’.

To listen to what can only be termed `political rhetoric’ espoused by the respective leaders of participating nations, they ring hollow given that they speak to nothing new from words spoken in prior conferences. And, though some progress has be achieved by introduction of new carbon sequestration and limiting technologies, alternative energy solutions, etc.; on balance, they are dwarfed by comparison to the continued introduction of new sources and use of oil, coal and natural gas.

Too, the business driven concept solutions known as Carbon Tax and Cap and Trade are by any order of mindful rationale, nothing more then mechanisms to appease both commercial and public descent and short-term political solution to sustain power of government by the ruling political party. Regardless, the long term effects are still devastating to the well-being of all living creatures of the Planet.

To listen to the arguments present by the individual, international players comprising this latest gathering in Paris France, whether for and or against dramatic concrete, uniformly and permanently implemented efforts to combat the known environmental contributors to observed and experienced effects of Climate Change globally; Money is a the root to reasons put forward to substantiate either doing or not doing.

Given the life-threatening and extinction level effects of climate change presently and with certainty, future catastrophic events; money should be the last item of consideration when a viable, permanent solution is in the offering.

So, what or better stated: Who, is stopping this from happening?

Humanity has regrettably but succumb to the living concept that `money is power’. Countless lives and whole civilizations for aeons have been sacrificed to sustain this fictitious edict that, as stated at the beginning to this essay, has plagued human-kind since before the mythical time of one known as Jesus Christ.
Is it not time for this ridiculous concept to come to its end before it `buys’ humanity’s ticket to extinction?

There are solutions and it need not be bought by MONEY! The Collective of Humanity must once and through the strength and resolve of the power that is inherent purely by its presence on this planet Earth, TAKE BACK, that which belongs to every living specie: the RIGHT TO LIVE!

YOU

Image result for you

The world feeling stress at the seams;
Truer than life are its worst of dreams;
Hesitant are most to give it a voice;
But there comes a moment, there is no choice.

Every avenue, every domain,
Every institution, established name;
Feeling the pressure, fracturing apart;
Traditions failing those worn closest, to a civil heart.

What remedy, what resolve
Need manifest to this malaise, solve;
Far too great is their weight of dismay,
Leaving loss of hope, to see light of day.

Prophecy of scripture, resigned to by some,
Rendering providence to returning mythical Son;
But reality holds to a much stronger truth:
Solutions reside in the hearts of everyone and, YOU!

Nature’s Song Fading

The Nature of Things - SongbirdSOS

Click on image to watch CBC’s Nature of Things

Nature’s earthly realm is dying with each passing day;
Humanity, collectively, chooses to look the other way;
Ignoring the warnings echoed by what science has to say;
Witnessed by the fading, beauty song nature loves to play.

Divergent minds’ relentless debate of causes and the effects
While extremes of rain-soaked floods to drought are there to detect
That something significant is happening, a sure winning bet;
Leading to an obvious outcome, future generations will be left to regret.

Dire news of destruction to upset each night’s dinner plate
Serves to detract from gaining remedy but likely to infuriate;
Fuelled by the incessant arguing the mindless like to instigate
While the world around consumes precious time remaining to mitigate.

Global rising temperatures melt ancient glaciers that once stood tall;
Countless species of wildlife are going extinct by this mindless stall
To take decisive action to avoid global civilization’s final fall;
What greater event than the permanent silence of nature’s song call?

Blessing Purge

GRIM

Through the lens of seeing the state of this world,
Its dwindling beauty shows dire signs its coming unfurled,
The presence of an illness plague spreads unabated
Sadness comes knowing it’s humanity conflated

Generation after generation cautionary signs being ignored
Heedless to the wrath of darkness ebbing ever closer more
Conspiring to hide the true fate of what is to come
Smart technologies contrarily keep the majority dumb

When will it arrive and, in what manner manifest?
The list of poisons is long, whatever feels the best
No matter the manner or ferocity of the final scourge
Mother Earth will surely recover from this blessing purge.

Climate in the 21st Century – Muted Voices

seasons

To start, go to your favourite search engine and type in the phrase: ` 21st century new realities’.

For the sake of this conversation, I sought out Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Scrolling through the results obviously in order of `rating’; the most sought or pursued search result, what becomes disturbingly obvious is the total exclusion of any mention related to climate change or global warming.

The reason this is most disturbing and troubling; given that the majority of aforementioned search results, the topics related to economy and education were the primary focus.

Though the anticipated changes to the global economic model for the 21st Century is relevant, as is the standard of education undertaken in response to these changes, they become moot if the shift in climate and conditions resulting from it, manifest in ways already being experienced around the globe.

To those who have not considered the gravity of the current and growing erosion of global climate, the following video will provide a quick update on the present status from a global perspective:

No doubt many may remain sceptical to the reality and/or seriousness of changes to climate now and in the future however, would it not be prudent to at least have the matter on the radar, to be discussing what and how humanity proposes to respond should all projected models prove to be accurate if not understated?

Truly, one need ask the long-range wisdom of those who have or are considering, birthing children into this 21st Century world. It would be reasonable to be considering what world condition their children innocently, are going to be subject to. Especially given the obvious lack of true concern and commitment to mitigating any of the scientifically documented contributors to the abysmal climate change conditions anticipated and, their direct repercussion on the quality of life and living standard future generations will be subjugated to endure. And through no fault of their own.

Compounding the potential for a more dire state of affairs are the dwindling resources, natural and monetary,to effectively respond to the excessive property damage and, financial and economic losses associated with increasingly severe weather conditions already experienced on a daily basis. An extreme shift in weather patterns currently find some areas of the globe suffering from prolonged periods of unusually high temperatures leading to severe droughts and critical water shortages contributing to multi-hectare size forest fires. From this state of conditions to torrential downpours contributing to excessive flooding and landslides.And the full impact of climate change as projected, has not been fully realised.

This article is not intended to `fear-monger’ nor open the flood-gates (no pun intended) of debate on the validity to the reality of climate change nor the conditions purported to be responsible however, in both Canada and the United States the election cycle for the leadership of both countries is well underway and, it behoves every voting citizen to make this issue an electoral issue, to pursue their favoured candidate and associate political party; to how they propose to deal with this urgent matter for the present and increasingly important, the future. Failure to do so may mean the difference of life to death for their children and generations yet to come should there remain no viable world into which to be born.

A related Poem written a couple of years ago.
