One Hell Of An Explosion

blast

How ludicrous this world has become. No writing of fiction could rightfully depict the level of stench that rises from the pile of rhetorical `shit’ espoused by so-called elected representatives of the People, regardless of country represented. It seems undeniable that those whom feel compelled to run for office of governance, though possibly compelled by altruistic ideals, ultimately succumb to the greed that has infused the hallow-halls of government establishment of all nations.

A more clearer factual illustration of this is had in Bill Moyer’s (billmoyer.com) interview with journalist Mark Leibovich about his latest book, This Town.

This Town centers on Washington D.C. `a city where money rules the day and status is determined by who you know and what they can do for you.  “If you can sell yourself as someone who knows how Washington works, someone who has these relationships,” Leibovich explains, “that’s a very marketable commodity.  If you’re seen as someone who knows how this town works, someone who is a usual suspect in this town, you can dine out for years — that’s why no one leaves.”’

It does not take much imagination to paint the incumbents of  all Nation’s government with the same tarnished brush. When exposed to opportunity for extreme wealth and with it; the power of influence that it can purchase, especially when others are competing and racing toward the same  feeding-trough, ideals of morality for representation can be quickly forgotten.

The more one becomes educated to the insidious corruption that is prevalent within representative governance, a pervasive cynicism toward organized civilization is the outcome. A great sense of defeat to what collective humanity is suppose to mean. Observance to this metastasizing `cancer’ corrupting every essential organ comprising organized culture; one can only conclude that `death’ can only be a matter of time.

However, there does exist a slight ray of hope to cure this rampant, infectious disease: Common People.

It is time for Common People: the blue-collar worker, the grossly underpaid, the educated unemployed, everyone whom the power to cast a vote exists; all must collectively stand up for what is rightfully theirs to share equally and freely, not that which is dolled-out as rhetorical promises with each electoral cycle, before it is too late.

The spark to light the fuse to incite the needed, forceful movement has yet to be lit yet, the `gun-powder’  that is reason, is definitely accumulating and, when ignited, it is will be `one hell of an explosion’.

De-Politicizing Morality

morality

Why is it that morally conscious people feel obliged to park or align their values for the rights of all humanity under the umbrellas of liberal or literalist movements? To do so only serves to politicize such concern that has proven time and again, disastrous.

The past, present and undoubted, future atrocities encumbering global humanity be they centered in the Middle East, Africa, or even now Russia with its demonization of the LGBT community in that country; a uniquely different manner of reaction/ response be demanded. Not by any one political camp but by ALL morally, conscious Humanity.

Enough is enough that the political and corporate elite subjugate national and international foreign policy to the demands of an oligarchy represented by such groups as the Bilderberg Group, Council of Foreign Relations, RAND Corporation and other similar elitist organizations who are widely known to direct the course of global political, economic and financial policy that is extolling pain, suffering and loss of life for all common Peoples of the World.

What will it take for this collective known as Humanity, to rightfully take-back ownership of the common-wealth this earthly presence has to bestow, to be shared equally amongst each living Soul?

In the heart of every caring individual finding the answer starts by DE-politicizing morality!

Toronto G20 Fiasco Revisited

Watching the REAL NEWS NETWORK’s Paul Jay (http://trnn.com) comment on the issue of the G20 event has only served to rile my anger against the criminal actions of all levels of government and goon-mentality, militarized police responsible for the authorization and use of unprovoked and excessive brutal force respectively, evidenced and documented. Compounding the insult of this criminal event is the lack of accountability of all level of authority responsible. Like most issues it is merely swept away and forgotten with the consolation that it is never to happen again. But, when it does, the same pathetic rhetoric will be spun to diminish the true importance of the matter. Democracy in the true sense of its meaning is for all intents and purposes: DEAD! Civil liberty, freedom of speech in arenas where it is most potent are and in truth; always have been, expunged by the unseen elite authority that in fact narrates and conducts the events of the world. Politicians and associated militarized battalions of complicit policing authority having sold their souls for a feeding at the trough.

Jack Boots and Batons

In jack boots and wielding batons
They come a hundred strong
Their march echoing the throng
With fierce voice chanting the song:

`Back off – get to where you belong

Their aim:  to intimidate
Their strength:  how governments legislate
Their goal:  to disseminate
Those whom protest and congregate

Billowing clouds of pepper-spray block the light
To keep peering eyes and cameras from sight
To witness those who attempt to fight
For what they know is their civil-right

This tactic meant to intimidate
Serves only to rile and infuriate
Leading to rebellion and the eventual fate
Of civil society becoming a terrorist state

It Seems Inevitable…

jpaper

The CBC’s (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) recent News story spoke to the despair, heart-ache and suffering experienced by one of the many victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing incident.  The narrative and accompanying video clip was effective in stirring  sympathy and compassion for what this individual and no-doubt all victims and their families, have had to endure.

It is difficult to understand how the People of the United States can expect immunity from the detrimental affects of aggression enacted in their name. For it is their democratically elected government, to whom they entrust powers to commit to acts of war, economic sanctions and other forms of provocation upon other nations.

World War II netted the United States to be the most powerful military and economic nation of the planet.  The United States maintaining its global leadership position during the five decades preceding commencement of the 21st century, embarked upon several foreign policy initiatives strictly for ridding the world of any semblance of communism/socialist influence.  This decisive policy purportedly the impetus to conflicts arising first in the early 1950’s with North Korea supported by communist China and still an issue ; early in the 1960’s North Vietnam also with the support of China, advancing into the south; in the early 1960’s, confrontation with the Soviet Union over the Cuban Missile crisis; in the late 1980’s, an advisory role supporting newly established Al-Qaeda in defence of Afghanistan against Soviet Union advances. The irony in each of these conflicts is the realization that in the end, the United States with all its financial and military might, effectively failed to reach its stated foreign policy goals in each instance of conflict. Arguably, the beneficial outcome of retarding if not stopping advances of socialist communism in these regions by US led initiatives, could have been achieved with less destruction and loss of life through United Nations’ economic sanctions and diplomacy. Lastly, though not related to socialist communism; at the beginning of the 1990’s saw the annihilation of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein forces instigated by its advances into Kuwait oil fields only to render a state of wide-spread destruction of important national infrastructure and to subsequently lead to incitement of wide-spread sectarian violence throughout the Middle East today.

The destruction of the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001 purportedly enacted by Islamic extremist is the first major incident post WW II to occur within the national United States resulting in the loss of approximately three-thousand innocent lives and serious injury to many more. The next and only major incident deemed an act of Islamic related terrorism is the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing with the death of three and serious injury to more than two-hundred.

Unacceptable as the loss of life and injury is to innocent victims; it is difficult to arouse too much sympathy for the United States as a whole when put into context of the number of innocent lives taken by it and its allies, military forces and most recent, its active Drone program; all in the name of advancing democracy when the true objective is the advancement of Capitalism.

At no other time has the reality to what drives United States and complicit global allies foreign policy been so evident: the Corporate-Capitalist-State.

The power of American multi-national corporations in their insatiable quest to render all nations’ resources and their Peoples subservient has proven to usurp the true essence of social democracy the United States and like nations, purport to profess through political rhetoric.

In prior decades the ruthless advancement of the corporate state was reserved for those beyond US shores however, since the engineered global financial collapse of 2007-08, it has become fully evident within the national United States.

In conclusion, relating to one of the basic laws of physics: for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction; the Peoples of the United States and for that matter, all Nation’s complicit in acts of aggression with similar capitalistic motivations, should take heed and, unless they, through their democratic, electoral processes, impose upon their government(s), re-examination of the status quo to foreign policy initiatives and, to which entity of authority is to be given the power to direct into the future, it seems obvious that there is likely to be more senseless loss of life and destruction of property. It seems inevitable.

Dichotomy In The Human Experience

Like the planet, spinning, spiraling outward along with its cousin planets comprising this spacial galaxy, fueled by the energy of its central body Sun traveling through the dark void of space; the events comprising the history of Earth’s current epoch of human inhabitants, ravel timelessly toward an unknown destiny.

Each twenty-four hour cycle of Earth’s excursion toward the unknown speaks to the life stories of its seven-billion inhabitants. Stories that compose the nature of human existence within the fragile environment to which it has been mysteriously born. Stories diligently recorded and maintained over centuries of time-measured yet, authored for an unknown audience for it is evident through humanity’s ability to repeat its failings, to heed lessons taught through life-experience.

Contention surrounds the prospect that destiny plays important in the flow and ebb of human experience, a guiding energy toward an as-yet, unfathomable outcome. Though, is the daily expunging of countless, individual human lives by self-inflicted carnage and suffering expressed in wildly imaginable constructs excuse-able by such unsubstantiated reason?

The stain of evilness embodies each living soul demanding conscious effort to entomb within, to refuse succumbing to its destructive potential. Though many of human populace willingly oblige and acquiesce to the few and powerful belligerent, abusing forces within its realm; and, those whom are brave to oppose such evilness are effectively and ceremoniously stifled in their effort.

The progressive evolution of human experience too is evidenced daily reinforcing the perception that humanity at its core  holds to ideals exercised as humane and goodly acts.

It is this perplexing dichotomy in human nature compounded by the inability to clearly define purpose to presence on Earth that both propels and stifles the human experience and progressive evolution, unrestricted to its fullest potential.

Advocates

 gb

Allan Ginsberg’s Howl, William Burroughs’ Naked Lunch and, Paul Goodman a novelist, playwriter and social activist; all advocates and adventurous men of original literary acclaim to the avant-garde, rebels in and of their time, garnering unsolicited reputation for challenging the buttressed and stalwart, civil-conservative institution of literature and civil-society at large; these great, inspirational authors and each provocatures of past little known, unfortunately, by many contemporary authors and public.

The ironic thread that strings these three men in particular, is not limited to their willingness to trash contemporary style, form and theme, the hallmarks of accepted and flourishing literature of their time but, their sexuality.  Both Goodman and Burroughs were bi-sexual and Ginsberg, homosexual.

So what relevance does sexual-orientation have for their works being recognized as profound and revolutionary contributions to the literary realm given at times, the shocking crudeness and vulgarity of language describing in vile and gutteral detail, perceived deviant sexuality, heroin addiction and smoking of pot expressed in wildly random, convoluted style and form contrary to the conservative and conventional literary publications in and of their time?

Though to a considerably lesser extent today given current human and equal-rights legislative reforms; during the life-time of these men homosexuals and bisexual were heavily persecuted, deemed tarnished reprobate, sick people and legally classified as mentally ill and, subject to arrest if caught or reported performing sexual acts with other men often relegated to secrecy and  cover of darkness.

It is no wonder given the harshness of the social environment imposed on these men and others of their era,  would resort to free-form expression to expunge the hatred and hostility they all were grudgingly obliged to endure.

Paradox to Existence – The Stroke of Death

d

I wrote this contemplation some-time ago but, in the course of readying for a move I came across it and thought to post:

Paradox to ExistenceThe Stroke of Death

In contemplation of the last and final moment of life,

As the last breath escapes past parted lips,

What thought will consume a brain dying?

Will it be:

  • The sudden flash of life’s long forgotten memories;
  • the wish for things to have been done differently;
  • the last taste of a favorite food or drink; or simply,
  • You just DIE!?

Speculation of that final event,

Parallels the speculation to what follows.

To experience is to know – then it is too late,

To communicate!

 Another Paradox to Existence.

In The Wake of Extreme Violence

flag

The events of the past week with the Boston Bombings serves to re-awaken questions regarding sacrificing personal freedoms and social liberty for what can only amount to a  `false’ sense of security as simply illustrated by the event occurring.

The United States since 911, likely more than any other nation, has spent billions on increased security, surveillance and technology yet senseless acts such as Boston’s proves this point.

Canadian politicizing of the Boston Bombing event reared its head when a National News interview with newly elected Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau, was posed the hypothetical question: how, if prime minister, would he respond in the after-math of such an event? .

What the question ultimately served to illustrate was not so much Trudeau’s hypothetical ability to correctly perform or respond but, the irrational, short-sighted logic of our currently elected officials in particular: Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Harper’s rebuttal to Justin Trudeau’s view on addressing social violence ie terrorism, is clear evidence to this by stating the following:

The PM claims `..you do not sit around trying to rationalize it or make excuses for it or try to figure out its root causes‘ .  It is the last part of this statement that most reflects the depth of stupidity of our elected government.

This is tantamount to saying: if your house keeps getting broken into by the poor kid down the street the solution is to get a security system and demand more police and prisons. Don’t bother to ask why is the kid poor causing him to resort to stealing.

This short-sighted approach to not only societal problems but to all problems confronting government is what leads to levels of frustration and anger by the disenfranchised leading to outlandish and violent acts as happen in the US.

Harper-government’s policies framed on the ill-logic illustrated by this example – potentially here in Canada too.

Words for Dollar$

 pyramid

It’s not a surprising inevitability the blogosphere is increasingly being utilized as a platform for ‘get rich quick’ schemes to proliferate but, the question that need be asked: Does the motivation to attract ‘followers’ stem from the desire to present quality, original material or, simply to add to a list of others amongst whom, are those willing to participate in a pyramid scheme to make fast money?

The basic formula to these schemes is to create a blog site that will convince others; by creating a blog site to attract others to join for a modest fee, subsequently shared up the pyramid-shaped totem of affiliates. Given the countless numbers the Internet can reach daily, each new fresh set of eyes presents a real opportunity to make significant dollar amounts by convincing a fraction of them to join the scheme.

No one can fault anyone for desiring to make fast, easy wealth by doing something they are already doing but, as with any pyramid scheme, the greater wealth goes to those above at the expense of those below and secondly, the blogosphere becomes inundated and consumed by meaningless tripe and ultimately diminishes the potential and experience of the tool.

Oh, by the way, since you read to this point can I interest you in……

Dreamt Dreamer Dreaming

dreaming of the dreamer
dreaming the dream
dreamed by the dreamer
dreaming the dream dreamt

Like many others, I am intrigued by the state of Dreaming.  A phenomenon majority of people and animals experience. Much research has gone into determining the function of dreams and as much, into the esoteric explanation of what they mean.

Typically dreams are suggested to represent a metaphorical unscrambling portrayal of the subconscious experience of daily conscious activity.

It is not my intent here to delve into the science and/or mythology of the dream state but, to relate to recent dream experiences I find especially intriguing in hopes that others may have had similar experience and can offer their insight and interpretation.

Firstly, one significant trait of my dream experience is that they seem to be episodal meaning; the dream will start where the same dream experience had some time in the past, ended and, it will hold to its own memory of that overall dream experience.

Next, I have awoken from three dream state levels: I awoke from a dream only to awaken again from that dream, only to awaken again into full consciousness of this reality.

Lastly, the most recent experience might be referred to as a Lucid dream state: I stated within the dream sequence the awareness that what was transpiring was in effect a dream. Specifically, I appeared to be revelling and partying with unseen friends amongst others. As I became very boisturous and behaving badly and out of character it came to me that all was fine because this was just a dream and, with that awareness, I pronounced to everyone this was just a dream so I could behave in this foolish manner. At one a point, a couple sitting at a table with their son, caught my attention. In the process of explaining to them I was just dreaming I asked the boy; what is your name?. He replied: ‘Joe’ to which I responded by shaking his hand telling him that it too was my name. The boy nor the parents had any resemblence to either me or my parents.  The father curiously asked me to explain my claim this was just a dream to which I explained my fascination and experience with dreams but as I began, I became consciously concerned of being able to distinguish reality when I would finally awaken. This caused me to do just that: awaken.

I will just add that this played as though I was looking through the view finder of a camera, the only point I saw myself in the dream was when I reached out to shake the boy’s hand and then, it was just my forearm and hand.

It is the second most recent experience of fully acknowledging that I was participating in a dream thus my actions were inconsequental. The first, not quite as detailed, occurred about two weeks ago. I can only relate to it as a converging awareness of being in a dream while conscious to reality. It is difficult to fully explain but it was though half my mind awoke and the other remained asleep or unconscious. When finally awake. I had quite the headache and left a bit confused.

It has been a long time ambition to consciously acknowledge within a dream that it being such, my actions and/or behaviour were inconsequential to conscious reality. It is quite liberating though comfounding, experience.
