THORIUM: Nuclear Future?

thoriumThorium Fueled Concept Car

(http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/03/thorium-lasers-could-make-nuclear-cars-a-reality/)

THORIUM named after the mythical God of Thunder THOR

So? You may ask: What does it have to do with the fabulous looking futuristic car pictured here?

Simply put: the FUTURE!

Unless you were off-planet during the massive 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Japan March 11, 2011, leading to a massive tsunami consuming the Fukushima nuclear power plant that to this present day, represents the largest nuclear catastrophe beyond that of Cherrnobyl of the former Soviet Union and now Russia. Given the nature of the disaster for which mitigation has yet to be resolved and, the potential for global nuclear pollution due to fallout if not adequately rectified; much global debate and scrutiny to the future of nuclear power generation has ensued.

At the core of this debate is recognition that several of the existing nuclear power generation plants globally, are exceeding their original economic and, safe functioning design life-cycle.
Further, this discussion is taking place in context with climate change, dwindling fossil fuels and renewable energy technology development. The result is a multi-faceted, multilevel and complex debate serving as wide a spectrum of stakeholders most important of whom is the general global population.

So again; what does this have to do with Thorium besides being named after the Thunder God Thor?

Thorium is a radio-active Element (source a Periodic Table for symbol `Th’) much like Uranium, the present nuclear fuel used by nuclear power plants however, it has well documented and proven properties that make it superior to uranium as a nuclear fuel. (For brevity’s sake, reference http://www.thoriumenergyalliance.com/  and view the videos for a full explanation of Thorium’s properties and advantages versus Uranium).

As explained by the principals of Thorium Energy Alliance; technology in support of using Thorium as a nuclear fuel is not new; it dates back to the 1950’s. However, as with most innovated technologies that fly in the face of established technologies (Tesla vs Edison) that generate massive corporate profits, much opposition is encountered from affected corporations which lobby governmental legislative and regulatory authorities to impede access to available R&D funding leading to the eventual abandonment of new and innovative technological development.

Such has and continues to be the case for Thorium as a practical resource for clean, efficient and cost-effective, safe nuclear electrical energy production .

So you ask: What can I do about it?

The sole purpose to this essay is to bring to the attention of the many whom are otherwise unaware of the existence and properties of Thorium as potential, viable and readily available, alternative nuclear fuel resource to the present, highly radio-active and, extremely dangerous use of Uranium.  Too, as highlighted by the videos; China, India, Norway and other nations are actively pursuing exploration and development of this technology with the ambition to dominate the field with the goal of establishing proprietary rights to the technology.
Every nation has ready access to the Element Thorium however, as best is known, to-date, none have sole-propriety to the technology to maximize this potential.

Research and development of the potential for Thorium is essential here in Canada if we are to save falling behind that of named nations resulting in our having to be dependent on their achievements. So, spread the word amongst all you know of this potential and ideally our politicians will become aware of the chatter and ideally, the needed development and funding for this alternative to the status-quo will materialize before it is too late.

A Global Mess

A desperate public outcry grows louder every day
Fueling the rise of anarchy; the ultimate, destructive play.
A complicit mass media assisting in every possible way,
Global governance’s struggles to stifle its legitimate display.

Daily, those of public conscious expose the hidden truths;
Whistle blowers, journalist, anonymous hacking sleuths;
Willingly self-sacrificing all for the likes of me and you;
In hopes of our recognizing what we all need to do.

Global finance, economies, environment, jobs; are all on the rails;
Established, civilized institutions weakened, about to fail;
Growing inequality of chaste society, on a massive scale;
With no sign of redemption by those directing this ugly tale.

This 21st century, anticipated epoch for humanity’s flourish and gain
Has, since commencement, derived nothing but suffering and pain.
The power elite infuse a corrupt stronghold ensuring this way it remain;
Through elected, official governance; court sanctioned, corporate finances sustain.

When and how the tidal-wave of human, civil dissolution will manifest
Remains for a future’s history to articulate, in detail, at best.
Yet, what need for certain to rise from the ashes of the coming largess:
Is suppression of the powers responsible for creating this global mess!

Reciprocity In Mind

images (1)

Huddled safely cocooned in a shell of my making
Hidden from the scourge of pervasive darkness
Protected from the blithe that meanders wantonly
Free of the wrath that burdens most
Unencumbered by the toils of daily life
Relinquished to the joy of self-fulfillment
Purchased from the pain of self-affliction
Comatose to the idleness of mind
Pursuant to retention of spirit
Intolerant to the voice of the righteous
Unforgiving to the purveyors of strife
Strengthened by knowledge of awareness
Unburdened by need for reward
Striving for reciprocity in mind

Digestive Cycle

digestive cycle

Traversing the next threshold of time-phase passage
Lives of untold many stand to be impacted
Human talents once sought and justly rewarded
Find their advances suddenly thwarted
Marvels of invented advances decompose as dump-site fodder
Fading into obliviousness of civilized history’s record blotter

All that comes to live charts a reality, digestive cycle
First, the joy elation of emotion to a new arrival
Exuberance expressed over its achievement gains
Then, complacency, its presence a struggle for survival
As its reason of purpose increasingly wanes
Thereafter, forever lost, forgotten, to remain.

Happiness and Mirth?

rubberband

T’were this 21st century era represented as a societal rubber-band,

Stretched each opposite way by caste’s differing hand,

Taken ultimately to a point it will no longer expand,

Forces unleashed by its breaking, a revolutionary fire it will fan.

Appeasement and contrite rhetoric will become increasingly hollow,

No longer will the meek find reason for it to swallow,

Nor for the mire and muck of impoverishment to wallow,

It is then the true wrath of the downtrodden will follow.

Barbed-wire and gated-walls will the outbreak resist,

But when all hope is lost, death becomes a virtue to enlist,

For the goal is not to the unfortunate whom now exist,

But to their progeny: for the same struggle not to persist.

This potential, destructive path need not find its birth,

Were each human-being given their common worth,

To equally share in the wealth given to this earth,

That life-lived be with fullness of happiness and mirth.

De-Politicizing Morality

morality

Why is it that morally conscious people feel obliged to park or align their values for the rights of all humanity under the umbrellas of liberal or literalist movements? To do so only serves to politicize such concern that has proven time and again, disastrous.

The past, present and undoubted, future atrocities encumbering global humanity be they centered in the Middle East, Africa, or even now Russia with its demonization of the LGBT community in that country; a uniquely different manner of reaction/ response be demanded. Not by any one political camp but by ALL morally, conscious Humanity.

Enough is enough that the political and corporate elite subjugate national and international foreign policy to the demands of an oligarchy represented by such groups as the Bilderberg Group, Council of Foreign Relations, RAND Corporation and other similar elitist organizations who are widely known to direct the course of global political, economic and financial policy that is extolling pain, suffering and loss of life for all common Peoples of the World.

What will it take for this collective known as Humanity, to rightfully take-back ownership of the common-wealth this earthly presence has to bestow, to be shared equally amongst each living Soul?

In the heart of every caring individual finding the answer starts by DE-politicizing morality!

Global Treason

abyss

Calamitous, tumultuous, turbulent chaos,
Words to define the present state of the World;
Everywhere one’s attention does cross,
What was once Order seems be coming unfurled.

Though the problems may vary, as do their cause,
There seems but one common, all important reason:
Major nation’s institutions flagrantly breaking international laws;
A crime some might define as Global treason

Whether judicial, legislative or global finance,
Morality and jurisprudence willfully dismissed;
The élite, whom are in control, succumbing to greed’s evil trance;
Sinking humanity by their undoing, into an ever darkening abyss.

It Seems Inevitable…

jpaper

The CBC’s (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) recent News story spoke to the despair, heart-ache and suffering experienced by one of the many victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing incident.  The narrative and accompanying video clip was effective in stirring  sympathy and compassion for what this individual and no-doubt all victims and their families, have had to endure.

It is difficult to understand how the People of the United States can expect immunity from the detrimental affects of aggression enacted in their name. For it is their democratically elected government, to whom they entrust powers to commit to acts of war, economic sanctions and other forms of provocation upon other nations.

World War II netted the United States to be the most powerful military and economic nation of the planet.  The United States maintaining its global leadership position during the five decades preceding commencement of the 21st century, embarked upon several foreign policy initiatives strictly for ridding the world of any semblance of communism/socialist influence.  This decisive policy purportedly the impetus to conflicts arising first in the early 1950’s with North Korea supported by communist China and still an issue ; early in the 1960’s North Vietnam also with the support of China, advancing into the south; in the early 1960’s, confrontation with the Soviet Union over the Cuban Missile crisis; in the late 1980’s, an advisory role supporting newly established Al-Qaeda in defence of Afghanistan against Soviet Union advances. The irony in each of these conflicts is the realization that in the end, the United States with all its financial and military might, effectively failed to reach its stated foreign policy goals in each instance of conflict. Arguably, the beneficial outcome of retarding if not stopping advances of socialist communism in these regions by US led initiatives, could have been achieved with less destruction and loss of life through United Nations’ economic sanctions and diplomacy. Lastly, though not related to socialist communism; at the beginning of the 1990’s saw the annihilation of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein forces instigated by its advances into Kuwait oil fields only to render a state of wide-spread destruction of important national infrastructure and to subsequently lead to incitement of wide-spread sectarian violence throughout the Middle East today.

The destruction of the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001 purportedly enacted by Islamic extremist is the first major incident post WW II to occur within the national United States resulting in the loss of approximately three-thousand innocent lives and serious injury to many more. The next and only major incident deemed an act of Islamic related terrorism is the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing with the death of three and serious injury to more than two-hundred.

Unacceptable as the loss of life and injury is to innocent victims; it is difficult to arouse too much sympathy for the United States as a whole when put into context of the number of innocent lives taken by it and its allies, military forces and most recent, its active Drone program; all in the name of advancing democracy when the true objective is the advancement of Capitalism.

At no other time has the reality to what drives United States and complicit global allies foreign policy been so evident: the Corporate-Capitalist-State.

The power of American multi-national corporations in their insatiable quest to render all nations’ resources and their Peoples subservient has proven to usurp the true essence of social democracy the United States and like nations, purport to profess through political rhetoric.

In prior decades the ruthless advancement of the corporate state was reserved for those beyond US shores however, since the engineered global financial collapse of 2007-08, it has become fully evident within the national United States.

In conclusion, relating to one of the basic laws of physics: for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction; the Peoples of the United States and for that matter, all Nation’s complicit in acts of aggression with similar capitalistic motivations, should take heed and, unless they, through their democratic, electoral processes, impose upon their government(s), re-examination of the status quo to foreign policy initiatives and, to which entity of authority is to be given the power to direct into the future, it seems obvious that there is likely to be more senseless loss of life and destruction of property. It seems inevitable.

Dichotomy In The Human Experience

Like the planet, spinning, spiraling outward along with its cousin planets comprising this spacial galaxy, fueled by the energy of its central body Sun traveling through the dark void of space; the events comprising the history of Earth’s current epoch of human inhabitants, ravel timelessly toward an unknown destiny.

Each twenty-four hour cycle of Earth’s excursion toward the unknown speaks to the life stories of its seven-billion inhabitants. Stories that compose the nature of human existence within the fragile environment to which it has been mysteriously born. Stories diligently recorded and maintained over centuries of time-measured yet, authored for an unknown audience for it is evident through humanity’s ability to repeat its failings, to heed lessons taught through life-experience.

Contention surrounds the prospect that destiny plays important in the flow and ebb of human experience, a guiding energy toward an as-yet, unfathomable outcome. Though, is the daily expunging of countless, individual human lives by self-inflicted carnage and suffering expressed in wildly imaginable constructs excuse-able by such unsubstantiated reason?

The stain of evilness embodies each living soul demanding conscious effort to entomb within, to refuse succumbing to its destructive potential. Though many of human populace willingly oblige and acquiesce to the few and powerful belligerent, abusing forces within its realm; and, those whom are brave to oppose such evilness are effectively and ceremoniously stifled in their effort.

The progressive evolution of human experience too is evidenced daily reinforcing the perception that humanity at its core  holds to ideals exercised as humane and goodly acts.

It is this perplexing dichotomy in human nature compounded by the inability to clearly define purpose to presence on Earth that both propels and stifles the human experience and progressive evolution, unrestricted to its fullest potential.

Walnut Trees

Walnut Trees

Walnut Trees

Binary Souls

Entombed to the Wood

Born to this world

To Know

To experience the tides of time

A living memeory

For all to see

To All, to know

Walnut Trees

Ominous yet, strikingly graceful, towering tall,

With wind-swept leaf laden branches too strong to fall;

Their thick, deeply channeled bark speaks to a timeless stand,

Defying death by disease growing mighty and grand.

Age-old witness to the passage of human history,

Intolerant to cycles of drought and winter misery;

Here only to serve their natural purpose; to purify Earth’s air,

Their lushful green grandeur of beauty; a gift to humanity to share.

As with all that is natural, an end time will one day come

When the boldness of their presence, no longer hides the Sun;

A sad day truly, for all whom have failed to witness, to see,

This wonder of nature’s doing, these centuries old, Walnut trees.
