As a young man, early in my youth
I thought the world my realm
There would be nothing I couldn’t do
As captain steering this life’s rudder-helm.
But as the years past and, getting older;
The harsh realities of life taken root;
My ambitions it seemed, became less bolder,
As my true assessment of life; more astute.
Not to say things went totally array,
There have been successes along the way;
But, innocent naivety of youth does belie:
As more then simple ambition in life, is needed to play.
